The program begins at 6th grade and ends with the Rite of Confirmation in the fall semester of a student's  freshmen year in high school.

The purpose of the confirmation program is to give students an opportunity to build strong Christian relationships with their peers as well as adult mentors, engage in the life of the church, and to learn and understand the basics of the Christian faith and what it means to be Lutheran. 

SURF/H2H also gives students the opportunity to ask the tough questions about God that they are really thinking about in a safe, fun and encouraging environment.

For the 2010/2011 academic year, we are using Faith Inkubators H2H (Head to the Heart) Lutheran confirmation curriculum.

There are requirements in order to be confirmed. Students are expected to attend 80% of the evenings that we meet, take sermon/worship notes once per calendar month, and participate in the service and mission projects that are such an important component of their faith formation.

Each student must also take part in at least one of the several Faith sponsored mid-school retreats offered every academic year. Retreats offer the opportunity to build a stronger sense of community, experience learning in a different and more relaxed environment, and to have some fun too!

Even if they don't want to be confirmed, all mid-school students are welcome to join us any time! (We really do have a great time together!)

Registration for students begins in the late summer. The fees for 6th grade students is $40.00, which includes a new student Bible; and $30.00 for 7th and 8th grade students.
